TRAIN FOR Green Power Hike WITH WAYME Event: Jan 30, 2027 - Jan 30, 2027 The Green Power Hike is one of Hong Kong's largest annual charity hiking events, organized by Green Power, an environmental organization dedicated to promoting nature conservation and environmental education. Since 1994, the event has inspired thousands of participants to enjoy Hong Kong's scenic countryside while supporting environmental initiatives. The event offers multiple hiking routes of varying distances and difficulty levels, making it accessible to families, recreational hikers, and experienced outdoor enthusiasts alike. Participants journey through Hong Kong's country parks, mountain trails, and natural landscapes, experiencing the city's rich biodiversity and breathtaking views. More than a hiking challenge, the Green Power Hike encourages healthy outdoor recreation, environmental awareness, and community participation. Proceeds from the event help fund Green Power's environmental education programs and conservation efforts, fostering a greater appreciation for nature and sustainable living among the public.
"Green Power Hike is one of the longest-standing charity hiking and trail running event in Hong Kong, greeting over thousands of participants on the Hong Kong Trail every January or February. Since 1994, the annual event has accumulated over 84,000 hikers to hike for a green future. We are dedicated to the promotion of nature appreciation through hands-on hiking experience. Green Power Hike participants are encouraged to explore the Ecology of Hong Kong Trail, as well as to put the “Leave-No-Trace” concept into practice by taking their own rubbish away, recycling the rubbish and reducing resource use. We undertake a green approach throughout the planning of the Hike. Starting from the preparation period, we reduce and reuse materials as much as possible. During the event day, no disposable cups or bottles will be distributed. Collection bins are set up for sorting recyclables and fruit peels. Do not miss out the “Eco Clean Up” action on the event day, and the “Restoring Hiking Trail” action."
