TRAIN FOR Philippine Mountain Trail 2027 WITH WAYME Event: May 2, 2027 - May 2, 2027 The Philippine Mountain Trail (PMT) is a mountain trail-running event in Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, offering two accessible distances in the Intrepid Spirit calendar: 14 km and 25 km, both starting and finishing at Kayapa Central School. Part of the Philippine Mountain Trail Festival (PMTF), PMT provides an introduction to mountain racing while still delivering a rewarding trail experience. The 14 km is an approachable mountain trail race that also suits hikers who want to explore the trails at their own pace. It is also a great first step for runners transitioning from road running or shorter trail distances. The 25 km is PMT’s flagship course, reaching elevations of approximately 1,700 to 1,919 m above sea level. Along the way, participants may encounter a sea of clouds, hanging bridges, waterfalls, rice paddies, and panoramic mountain views. Both distances have an 8-hour cut-off, allowing participants ample time to complete the courses. Runners under 18 must provide signed parental or guardian consent. PMT welcomes runners and hikers to experience Kayapa’s mountain trails.

TRAIN FOR VJ100 Ultra Trail Challenge 2027 WITH WAYME Event: Jan 9, 2027 - Jan 10, 2027 The VJ100 Ultra Trail Challenge (VJ100 UTC) takes you on a twisted journey through the best-known – and some long-forgotten – trails of the Camp John Hay Forest Reservation in Baguio City, Philippines. Even seasoned trail runners who know these paths well will find a few gnarly surprises waiting. Beautiful but beastly, VJ100 UTC challenges you to survive a pine-tree-clad paradise on an endurance course no runner can ever fully prepare for. Every category – from the soft rolling trails of the 5K to the relentless ascents and descents of the full 100KM – is built on a signature 10KM Camp John Hay loop, repeated for the 20KM, 50KM, and 100KM distances. Along the way you’ll learn the real meaning of “challenge".

TRAIN FOR Baguio Backyard Ultra WITH WAYME Event: Jan 7, 2027 - Jan 10, 2027 A New Name. The Same Backyard Spirit. Welcome to Baguio Backyard Ultra. Baguio, Philippines – The Philippines’ original Backyard Ultra begins a new chapter as Jingle Balls Backyard Ultra (JBBU) officially becomes Baguio Backyard Ultra (BBU). The rebranding celebrates the event’s continued growth and its strong connection to Baguio City, its home since the inaugural race. While the name has changed, the event’s mission, Backyard Ultra format, and commitment to an exceptional endurance experience remain the same. The Philippines’ first Backyard Ultra was established in December 2019, introducing the internationally recognized “Last Person Standing” format to Filipino trail runners. The event returned in December 2023 and December 2024, welcoming more runners eager to challenge their physical and mental limits. In March 2026, the event held its fourth edition, marking another milestone for the growing Backyard Ultra community in the Philippines. Now, as Baguio Backyard Ultra, the event moves into a new era while honoring the legacy built under the Jingle Balls Backyard Ultra name.

TRAIN FOR Hardcore Ultra Trail 2027 WITH WAYME Event: Apr 30, 2027 - May 3, 2027 The Hardcore Ultra Trail (HUT) is a mountain-trail ultramarathon in Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, headlined by Hardcore 100 Miles (H1), the country’s first 100-mile trail race, first held in 2013. Three ITRA- and UTMB Index-rated distances start and finish at Kayapa Central School: Hardcore 100 Miles (164.85 km), Hardcore 50 Miles (73.6 km), and Hardcore 60K (62.29 km). H1 is the second-oldest 100-mile trail race in Asia and ranks among the world’s oldest 100-milers. The course features over 9,500 m of ascent and descent, with less than 10% on concrete. Runners can expect single-track, dirt and gravel paths, stream and river crossings, grasslands, farmland, forest trails, and hanging bridges as the route winds through the Cordillera highlands and remote mountain communities. For those seeking a shorter challenge, the 50-mile and 60K distances share the same rugged terrain and start line as H1, offering a taste of the 100-mile experience over a shorter distance. All categories are ITRA-rated and carry UTMB Index points.
