Kap Lung Ancient Trail, named after historic Kap Lung Village (over 200 years old, now just 2 households), once linked farmers from Pat Heung and Shek Kong to Tsuen Wan Market. This well-preserved granite path, shaded by woods and seasonal flora, offers a lush, cool summer hike with some stone steps—overall an easy and refreshing walk.

Post-WWII large-scale afforestation introduced fast-growing exotics like drought-hardy Paper-bark Tree and soil-enriching Taiwan Acacia to combat erosion. Both thrive along the scenic Twisk Nature Trail loop from Tsuen Kam Au, where you’ll spot camouflaged Stick Insects, Golden Orb-web Spiders, and stunning volcanic views of Tai Mo Shan from the helipad.
