Many remote border areas in Hong Kong remain sparsely visited, preserving rich wildlife habitats. In spring and summer, Sha Tau Kok Hoi hosts large flocks of egrets and herons at the famous A Chau egretry. From Fung Hang Family Walk by the sea, these waterbirds are easily seen foraging low over wetlands. The trail soon enters woodland, leading to a knoll viewpoint overlooking the unspoiled marshes and fields of Kai Kuk Shue Ha, Fung Hang, and Nam Hang Mei—shielded by mountains from urban noise, creating a serene paradise for wildlife and visitors alike.
