On narrow paths, this varied tour leads through forests up to idyllic viewpoints with views of Schluchsee and, when visibility is good, up to the Alps. Back in the valley, the trail follows the shore, where beautiful views of the lake open up again and again. Despite the hustle and bustle at Schluchsee, numerous quiet places close to the trail invite you to relax and enjoy. On warm summer days, it's worth packing your bathing suit; several stops along the way and in town round off the tour.

The Upper Black Forest Shepherd's Trail follows in the footsteps of the shepherd boys who used to guard herds of cattle on the Black Forest farms. Several information boards impressively tell of their often tough everyday life, which was characterized by hardships and work in wind and weather. The premium trail takes you on varied trails along blooming meadows, bright forest edges, rocks and piles of reading stones around Raitenbuch. There are wonderful views along the way, even as far as the Alps when visibility is good.
The Domsteig circular trail is particularly pleasant to walk in the recommended direction, with gentle ascents and somewhat steeper descents. The old, mostly high-altitude promenades are successfully integrated, which repeatedly open up new perspectives on the cathedral. Information boards along the route provide brief and valuable information, supplemented by audio offers via QR code and a separate offer for children. Lovingly designed rest areas in particularly beautiful places invite you to relax along the way.
This panoramic circular hike begins with a worthwhile climb through the forest to the Spießhorn, which offers an impressive view of the Alps. Along the way, the intelligent Viscope telescope helps you to recognize the surrounding peaks, while the Krunkelbachhütte invites you to take a leisurely break. The route continues over traditional high pastures, where the backwoods typical of the Black Forest graze in summer. Spectacular alpine panoramas accompany hikers over large parts of the route and make this tour an unforgettable natural experience.
