The Margahayu–Tepe route is an alternative hiking trail in the Mount Ijen area of East Java. This demanding route is recommended for experienced hikers with good fitness and scrambling skills.

The Kalibaru Trail is one of the main routes to Puncak Sejati (True Summit) of Mount Raung, one of Java's most challenging volcanoes. The route passes through dense forests, steep volcanic ridges, and exposed rocky sections before reaching the dramatic summit rim. The final approach requires scrambling and offers spectacular views of the massive volcanic crater, making it a rewarding adventure for experienced mountaineers.
