TRAIN FOR Baguio Backyard Ultra WITH WAYME Event: Jan 7, 2027 - Jan 10, 2027 A New Name. The Same Backyard Spirit. Welcome to Baguio Backyard Ultra. Baguio, Philippines – The Philippines’ original Backyard Ultra begins a new chapter as Jingle Balls Backyard Ultra (JBBU) officially becomes Baguio Backyard Ultra (BBU). The rebranding celebrates the event’s continued growth and its strong connection to Baguio City, its home since the inaugural race. While the name has changed, the event’s mission, Backyard Ultra format, and commitment to an exceptional endurance experience remain the same. The Philippines’ first Backyard Ultra was established in December 2019, introducing the internationally recognized “Last Person Standing” format to Filipino trail runners. The event returned in December 2023 and December 2024, welcoming more runners eager to challenge their physical and mental limits. In March 2026, the event held its fourth edition, marking another milestone for the growing Backyard Ultra community in the Philippines. Now, as Baguio Backyard Ultra, the event moves into a new era while honoring the legacy built under the Jingle Balls Backyard Ultra name.
