大欖郊野公園 Tai Lam Country Park
Ancient trails once vital for villagers' trade and connections dot Tai Lam Country Park, home to the most such paths, including Nam Hang Pai, Kap Lung, and Yuen Tsuen. Linking Yuen Long to Tsuen Wan, Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail recalls Shap Pat Heung farmers hauling goods to market. It climbs 400m Shek Lung Kung for sweeping 180-degree views of Tsing Yi, Rambler Channel, Ting Kau and Tsing Ma Bridges, and Lantau. Opened in 1997, the 1.377km Tsing Ma—world's longest rail-road suspension bridge—spans Ma Wan Channel, a Hong Kong icon. At MacLehose Trail Section Nine's junction lies historic Tin Fu Tsai Campsite, a former rest stop. Shaded paths lead to Kat Hing Bridge and Tai Tong's Sweet Gum Woods endpoint, where winter's fiery red foliage offers prime photo ops and cool respite.
