Mt. Kaimon, also known as the "Satsuma Fuji," is a 924-meter volcanic mountain in Kagoshima Prefecture, famous for its nearly perfect cone-shaped silhouette. The well-maintained hiking trail is approximately 5 km round trip and takes about 4–6 hours to complete, passing through subtropical forests before reaching the summit. Although the climb is steep and moderately challenging, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the East China Sea, Kagoshima Bay, and the surrounding coastline.

This rewarding point-to-point trek begins in Ibusuki and ascends the iconic Mount Kaimondake, often called "Satsuma Fuji" for its graceful cone-shaped profile, before finishing at Kaimon Station. Located within Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park, the trail offers lush natural scenery, diverse wildlife, and panoramic summit views. After the hike, visitors can explore Ibusuki's famous hot spring resorts, including its renowned sand baths.

This pleasant coastal walk begins at Nigatsuden Station and follows the shoreline of Kagoshima Bay to Cape Tara before ending at Miyagahama Station. Along the way, hikers can stop at the Tarahama Viewing Point to admire sweeping views of Chiringashima Island and the crystal-clear waters of Kinko Bay. The combination of coastal scenery and easy walking makes this route ideal for a leisurely outdoor excursion.

Beginning at the Sakurajima Ferry Port, this unique trail climbs the slopes of one of Japan's most active volcanoes to the Yunohira Observatory, the highest publicly accessible viewpoint on Sakurajima. Along the way, hikers pass striking lava fields and resilient Japanese black pine forests. From the observatory, panoramic views stretch across Kinko Bay, Kagoshima City, and the volcano's rugged North and South Peaks.
