The Baegundae Peak Hike climbs to Bukhansan National Park’s highest summit at 836.5 metres. Several approaches are possible, with the Ui-dong and Bukhansanseong routes among the most practical. The upper section becomes steep and rocky, with granite slabs, railings and exposed footing near the summit. Although the hike is not especially long, it can feel demanding and crowded on weekends. Start early, wear shoes with reliable grip and allow extra time around the summit bottlenecks.

The Yeougul Out-and-Back Trail is a moderate Bukhansan route beginning at Baegundae Information Center. It passes Harujae, Kkaldakgogae, mountain springs and Yaksuam Shelter before reaching rocky terrain around Baegundae and Mangyeongdae, including Submarine Rock and Yeougul. Forest paths, steep stone steps and granite sections provide varied scenery and a steady physical challenge. Although hikers return by the same route, reliable footwear, enough water and careful footing are recommended, especially on wet rock.

The Wonhyobong Loop is a moderate hike beginning at Bukhansanseong Information Center and following Wonhyo-gil to the summit before returning by a valley route. It passes Wonhyodae and Gaeyeon Falls, combining forest paths, stone steps, rocky sections and historic Bukhansanseong scenery. From the upper trail, hikers can enjoy views of Bukhansan’s granite peaks and Seoul’s outskirts. Some sections may be steep or slippery, so reliable hiking shoes, sufficient water and careful footing are recommended.
